Using small mechanisms and motors people have built themselves the equivalent to roller blades with engines called Air Treks or ATs. The people who ride these, Storm Riders, have turned this into an underground phenomenon. They've formed teams, emblems, and have claimed their turf all for one goal; getting to the top of the Trophaeum, the tower of all Storm Riders, built out of the fallen bodies of adversaries. Everyone seeks to reach the top and become one the 8 kings, each king residing over a different road up the Trophaeum and possessing his or her own Regalia, identifying them as king. Once all the kings and their Regalias come together under one team the king of all the kings, the Sky King will appear and lead all Storm Riders into the sky.

So...do you have what it takes to make it to the top?

Background Information Empty Roads, Kings, and Regalias

Post  Ram Jet Tue Feb 24, 2009 3:11 am

There are 8 roads and 8 kings to rule them. Each king is identified by their Regalia, a special mechanism in their ATs that allows them a significant power. There may be more roads and more kings but only these 8 roads have so far been able to make it to the top. So will you follow these roads or make your own path to the top?

Wind King of the Wing Road
Considered the purest of the 8 paths and therefore the most likely to become the Sky King, riders of this road use their ATs to ride through the air and use the wind to increase their maneuverability, helping them gain more distance from their tricks. Riders of this road seem to have a natural ability to sense changes in the wind, no matter how insignificant.

Wind Regalia: Bagram (Available)
Allows the user to create countless amounts of trick passes in the air and create gusts of wind, even creating small storms if the user is powerful enough.

Flame King of the Flame Road
Riders on this path value speed over all else. They can generally run faster and longer than other riders and often invent custom techniques out of their speed. Advanced riders may even ride fast enough to disappear from sight for short dashes.

Flame Regalia: Flame Regalia (Available)
Allows the user to move high speeds and uses special wheels to create high amounts of friction, creating trails of flames behind the user as they ride.

Thunder King of the Rising Road

Riders of the Rising Road prefer to draw less attention to themselves than any of the other roads. They generally focus less on direct combat and focus more on setting traps or disabling their opponents, usually through the use of sharp wires to wrap up their opponent to prevent mobility.

Thunder Regalia: Thunder Regalia (Available)
Unlike other regalia, the Thunder Regalia isn't one part or a pair of ATs but instead an entire suit, cloak, or jacket. The user uses electricity in wires throughout the suit to use high voltages to modify the earth's magnetic fields around them, allowing them to either attract or repel metal or magnetic objects to either themselves or other objects.

Fang King of the Bloody Road
The Bloody Road is unlike all the other roads in the way that riders of the Bloody Road actually carve their road on the bodies of their opponents causing actual cuts, scratches, and scars on their bodies. Riders of this road obviously focus more on attack then anything else and will assault their adversaries relentlessly.

Fang Regalia: Bloody Armor (Available)
The Fang Regalia uses a complex system of parts and mechanisms within the AT to increase the torque and power of their ATs at the cost weight and the ability to "fly" as one can with all other ATs. The power of the Fang Regalia comes from the momentum it gains from accelerating and breaking, sending out a piercing shock wave known as the Leviathan Fang. The longer and faster the rider runs, the more powerful the shock wave. However, the opposite still applies, if the user can't gain a lot of distance and speed, the resulting shock wave wont be as powerful.

Thorn King of the Sonia Road
Often described as the opposite of the Bloody Road, riders of the Sonia Road are able to increase the power of their attacks, their maneuverability, and speed and the cost of their own body. Riders of this road maneuver with there hips instead of their knees like most Storm Riders. This provides them a wider area of attack but also wears their body down over time, making endurance their weakest point and causing them problems in long, drawn out fights.

Thorn Regalia: Thorn Reaper (Available)
When the Regalia is activated a long cord unravels out of the Regalia to form the equivalent of a long whip. With proper movement of the hips the user can use the whips with powerful efficiency, making the tips of the whips move faster than sound and strike with awesome strength, though this puts a heavy strain of the rider and their joints.

Rumble King of the Over Road
Riders on this road use sound frequencies and vibrations to impede their opponents, usually by using the sound frequencies and noises to disorientate their adversaries. Advanced riders may even be able to use their sound vibrations to stop their opponents by creating a "wall of sound", a move that is also called the "Audience of the Over Road".

Rumble Regalia: Ram Jet (Available)
Using the windmill principle, Ram Jet acts like a turbine to compress incoming air, redirect it, and increase it's thrust and strength, though it requires a lot of strength to redirect all of the air. This Regalia is unique in the way that it is only as powerful as the force of the air it takes in. However, this Regalia can also nullify certain other Regalias' abilities and use them against their owner, such as the Leviathan Fang of the Fang Regalia.

Pledge King of the Ring Road
The Ring Road is special because not all riders of this road actually ride ATs. The main goal of riders on the Ring Road is to care for, repair, and tune the ATs of their allies. Riders on this road also tend to have a natural talent for sensing and changing sound frequencies though they can't use them for attacks. As a special ability for advanced riders on this road, they can actually use their affinity for sound frequencies to tune and adjust any Regalia to bring out it's full potential for it's owner.

Pledge Regalia: Axis (Available)
Axis is odd because it is not something that a person would wear, but rather wield. It is often depicted as a mechanical cross that, when activated, splits into several more crosses that surrounds the user. Axis actually allows it's user to hypothetically be in multiple places at once to help their allies. When the Regalia is activated it reacts to the tuners on the Regalia and it's memory card allowing it to connect to the ATs of their allies and can repair, tune, and enhance the entire team's ATs at once at the same rate as if the Pledge King was tuning their ATs normally, even if the user isn't near their allies. The allies must still be within a certain proximity to the wielder and, due to its cumbersome size and difficulty to use, makes riding ATs while using it near impossible.

Gem King of the Gaia Road and Jade Road
The Gem King is unique since it can actually be achieved through two variations of the same road.

  • The original road, the Gaia Road, focuses on researching you opponent and memorizing and engraving all their trick passes and scripts. Skilled riders on this road can engrave a trick script from an opponent no matter how fast, high, and complex the trick is. riders on this road are also naturally good at reading their opponents movements and predicting their next move.
  • The newer variation of the road, the Jade Road, focuses on defense instead of offense. Riders on this road focus on building up their endurance to outlast their opponents in a fight or a race. Though riders on this road are usually strong, their power comes in defense and blocking, not in offense and attacking.

Gem Regalia: Gem (Available)
Gem uses mechanical components in it's motor produce strong voltages that are transmitted into the ground and along surfaces. When these electrical volts reach the opponent they synchronize with their vibrations to either stun the opponent temporarily or jam their ATs temporarily by overloading the engine or halting mechanisms in their ATs. This can also be used to stop or halt an inanimate object other than the opponent. The limitation to this Regalia is that the volts have to travel along other surfaces to reach the opponent, the volts can move through the air.

Horn King of the Horn Road
Though similar to the Bloody Road, the Horn Road focuses less on reckless offense and focuses more on offense that uses technique, often incorporating trick passes to attack from odd angles. however, compared to the Bloody Road, riders on this road lack the strength to be an all around powerhouse offense and lack as much offensive power.

Horn Regalia: Hatch Venom (Available)
Hatch Venom operates under the same idea as the Fang Regalia in that it uses acceleration and braking to build up force, though Hatch Venom builds it up in the form of heat. This thermal energy from the friction of the wheels braking suddenly can be built up and released as "thermal shells" through fast and steady kicks. These kicks can actually become so hot that they burn the victim if enough energy was stored up. These "shells" can be released and fired much like the Leviathan Fang, though these shells are harder to see during flight but not as powerful.

Water King of the Lather Road

Riders of this road focus mainly on confusing their opponents using strange movements and tricks. Though their offense and defense is lacking, their maneuverability is high and they can use it to wear out their opponent with quick dodges and complex movements.

Water Regalia: Water Regalia (Available)
The user of this Regalia can actually change properties of water. Using the Regalia's wheels to produce bubbles in the water, the user can saturate the water with high pressure bubbles to either make it harder or easier to move through. This technique can be used both defensively and offensively. Using the Regalia, the user could create the equivalent to walls of water or even ride on top of water. These bubbles can be used without the presence of water but are no where near as effective, though even a slight amount of water, such as rain, makes the Regalia several times more effective.
